About The Position

The Courtesy Clerk Trainee is a customer-focused member of the store’s front-end team who supports a clean, orderly, and welcoming shopping experience. The role involves bagging groceries, collecting shopping carts, helping customers with groceries, verifying prices for cashiers when needed, maintaining store and restroom cleanliness, handling returned items, and helping customers locate products. Courtesy Team Members are expected to be friendly, attentive, responsible, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old, or 16 years old with a valid work permit.
• Be friendly and customer-service oriented.
• Be self-motivated and attentive to detail, quality, and presentation.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and customers.
• Work independently, manage time effectively, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Read, understand, and follow verbal and written directions.
• Reliably meet the required work schedule and adhere to the company attendance policy.
• Safely perform the role’s physical activities, which may include standing, sitting, lifting and stocking up to 50 pounds, pushing, keyboarding, telephone use, walking, and bending.

Responsibilities

• Bag customers’ groceries neatly and orderly.
• Verify prices for cashiers when necessary.
• Collect shopping carts from the parking lot.
• Assist customers with carrying groceries to their cars.
• Maintain a cheerful and helpful attitude toward customers and other Team Members.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the store and restrooms.
• Assist with “go backs” (returned items).
• Accompany customers to locate items throughout the store.
