About The Position

The role bags groceries, assists customers at checkout and with loading purchases, maintains store and parking-lot cleanliness, supports shelf conditioning and merchandise handling, and helps customers and cashiers locate products and check prices. The associate follows safety, food safety, maintenance, legal, and company guidelines, and works cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment. Responsibilities

Bag groceries at checkout, aiming for at least five items per bag while ensuring items are not damaged.
Use best practices when bagging items in reusable, plastic, and paper bags.
Assist with removing customers’ merchandise from the bottom of the bascart for checkout.
Offer to help customers load bags into their cars.
Perform basic shelf conditioning.
Inform customers of grocery specials.
Return merchandise to store shelves.
Gather bascarts and return them to designated areas.
Clean spills and collect and pick up trash inside the store and in the parking lot.
Clean all areas inside and outside the store.
Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
Learn the store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
Reinforce safety programs by following safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues, and notifying store management.
Follow food safety regulations and guidelines.
Inspect equipment as part of preventive maintenance and notify the appropriate department or store manager about items needing repair.
Help customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions about products in the department and throughout the store.
Follow local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment, and manage conflict reasonably, cooperatively, and without confrontation.
Handle customer and business information honestly and with integrity.
Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve customer and business issues.
Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
