The Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger bags groceries, assists customers with merchandise and loading, maintains store and parking-lot cleanliness, returns merchandise and carts, supports store operations, and follows safety, food safety, legal, and company guidelines. Responsibilities

Bag groceries at checkout, striving to place at least five items in each bag while preventing damage and following best practices for reusable, plastic, and paper bags.
Assist with removing customers' merchandise from the bottom of the bascart for checkout and offer to help load bags into customers' cars.
Perform basic shelf conditioning, inform customers of grocery specials, and return merchandise to store shelves.
Gather bascarts and return them to designated areas.
Clean spills and collect and pick up trash inside the store and in the parking lot; clean all areas inside and outside the store.
Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
Learn the store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
Comply with safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues, and notify store management.
Follow food safety regulations and guidelines.
Inspect equipment for preventive maintenance and notify the appropriate department or store manager of items needing repair.
Help customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions about products sold in the department and throughout the store.
Follow local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment; manage conflict reasonably, cooperatively, and without confrontation.
Act honestly and with integrity regarding customer and business information.
Follow directions and seek assistance as needed to resolve customer and business issues.
