The Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger bags groceries, helps customers with checkout and loading purchases, maintains store and parking lot cleanliness, supports merchandising and shelf conditioning, and assists customers and cashiers with product questions, locating items, and price checks. The role also involves cart gathering, seasonal merchandise assembly, compliance with safety and food safety practices, equipment inspection, and following applicable laws and company guidelines. The position requires cooperation in a fast-paced environment, constructive conflict management, integrity, and providing support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults. Responsibilities

Bag groceries at checkout, aiming for at least five items per bag while preventing damage.
Follow best practices when bagging items in reusable, plastic, or paper bags.
Help remove customers’ merchandise from the bottom of the bascart for checkout.
Offer to help customers load bags into their cars.
Perform basic shelf conditioning.
Inform customers about grocery specials.
Return merchandise to store shelves.
Gather bascarts and return them to designated areas.
Clean spills and collect and pick up trash inside the store and in the parking lot.
Clean areas inside and outside the store.
Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
Learn the store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues, and notify store management.
Follow food safety regulations and guidelines.
Inspect equipment as part of preventive maintenance and notify the appropriate department or store manager of items needing repair.
Welcome and assist customers by answering questions about products in the department and throughout the store.
Follow local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
Manage conflict reasonably, cooperatively, and without confrontation.
Handle customer and business information honestly and with integrity.
