About The Position

The Court Supervisor, under the supervision of the Court Administrator, is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to the Court Administrator, assisting to monitor and verify all court monies, supervising and training various court staff, and preparing and monitoring financial, disposition, and error reports. As a representative of management, supports the mission, vision, strategic plan, goals and decisions of the department and the City. Work involves responsibility for court case processing which may require the application of independent judgment and the application of statutes, policies and regulations. Work requires frequent interactions with the public providing exceptional customer service. Work may also involve financial record keeping within the court case management software and provide support for the Court Administrator and Municipal Judges.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Three years’ experience in court or related legal field required
  • Must be bondable
  • Avoid any outside employment or business activities that risk a conflict of interest with your official position, specifically including providing any kind of services to: Any member of the bar, Any law firm, or Any entity that is a party to any action before the court or which regularly appears before the court.
  • Considerable knowledge of municipal court systems, municipal court procedures, City ordinances, State statutes and Supreme Court rules
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles of business correspondence, practices of filing and legal file systems and procedures of record keeping
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and general ledger accounting
  • Efficient operation of standard office equipment
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions, work within established routines and procedures and handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in all matters handled in the course of work
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and with suppliers or the public as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Associates of Applied Science degree preferred
  • Minimum two years of supervisory experience preferred
