About The Position

The New Jersey Judiciary, Vicinage 15 (Cumberland), is seeking a highly motivated self-starter to work as a Court Services Supervisor 2 in the Probation Division. Under the general direction of the Court Executive 2B (Division Manager) and/or Court Executive 1B (Assistant Division Manager), the selected candidate will supervise and coordinate the diversified work activities of a team composed of professional, paraprofessional, and/or clerical staff. Duties include, but are not limited to, regulating and directing the flow of work within the team, and between teams, in accordance with operating schedules; instructing, coaching, mentoring, and evaluating team members on work related matters; providing feedback in a constructive manner that promotes professional development; conducting formal work performance evaluations; undertaking of corrective action as needed, and preparation of related documentation. Communicate with management and Human Resources on matters related to staff performance and development. Provide training locally and statewide; develop and maintain working relationships with internal, external partners, and community outreach. Case related duties such as case reviews, case conferences, observe staff utilizing evidence-based practice tools and skills. Compile, review statistical data. The selected candidate must provide direction for achieving organizational, unit, and project goals and must possess strong communication, interpersonal, computer, and project management skills. Performs related duties as required. Regular and predictable physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and three years of professional experience, one year of which shall have included experience in case management; enforcement of court orders; and/or supervision, monitoring and intervention of offenders.
  • Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits.
  • An associate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • A master’s degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above.
  • A law degree from an approved American Bar Association law school may be substituted for two years of general experience as indicated above.
  • Must be prepared to work on-site in Cumberland County (Bridgeton, NJ 08302), Gloucester County (Woodbury & Deptford, NJ 08096), and Salem County (Salem, NJ 08079).
  • Must possess strong communication, interpersonal, computer, and project management skills.
  • Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
  • Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting.
  • All persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.
