Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and three years of professional experience, one year of which shall have included experience in case management; enforcement of court orders; and/or supervision, monitoring and intervention of offenders.
  • Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits.
  • An associate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of additional paraprofessional and/or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • A master’s degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above
  • A law degree from an approved American Bar Association law school may be substituted for two years of general experience as indicated above.
  • Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
  • Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
  • Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting.
  • All persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.

  • Positions in the supervision unit may require working an Alternate Work Schedule, including late nights.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor staff in utilizing best practice and tools such as Risk Needs-Responsivity (RNA) instrument, Core Correctional Practice skills, and Structured Response Grid Policy.
  • Oversee case processing.
  • Coordinate assignments between units and/or teams.
  • Review staff assignments and written reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct performance evaluations.
  • Identify staff training needs.
  • Develop and formulate procedures and/or practices for efficient operations using data-driven standards.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Interact with community leaders and organizations.
  • Identify and analyze problems to enforce court orders.
  • Ensure the delivery of quality client service to a diverse and multilingual population.
