Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three (3) or more years of responsible experience in a moderately complex office or business setting involving the processing of financial, administrative, or legal documents.
  • Experience performing a variety of clerical or administrative support tasks with strict, and often competing, deadlines in a fast-paced business or professional setting.
  • Experience using a computer and a variety of software programs to access and input information and complete various tasks, including coordinating schedules and maintaining calendars.
  • Experience providing customer service to a variety of individuals in challenging circumstances.
  • Skill in writing and reviewing documents for accuracy, content, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Experience handling cash or credit card transactions and generating receipts.
  • Ability to start the process of CJIS clearance within the first week of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Process and docket juvenile judgments and orders.
  • Enter documents into the case register.
  • Update the docket and court calendars.
  • Schedule hearings and trials.
  • Monitor pending cases.
  • Provide information from court records as requested.
  • Compose correspondence.
  • Route orders and judgments for the judge’s signature.
  • Interact with judges, court staff, attorneys, parties to cases, and the public.
  • Provide customer service by answering questions, preparing copies of audio CDs and paper court records, and processing payments.
  • Provide backup coverage in the courtroom.
  • Create audio recordings of court proceedings.
  • Maintain a typed journal of events.
  • Perform real-time data entry.
  • Swear in witnesses.
  • Mark and process exhibits.
  • Accept and file documents.
  • Process orders and judgments.
