About The Position

Serve as support to the Assistant State’s Attorneys assigned to the Child Support Enforcement court rooms that are located throughout Cook County.

Requirements

  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent grammar, organizational and communication skills; written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with highly sensitive information
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to travel to the outlying districts when needed

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of CARES and Cook County Clerk’s system preferred

Responsibilities

  • Pull court call and companion cases for each court date
  • Prepare cases for up-coming court date by obtaining required information
  • E-File and data enter motions
  • Screen and data entry pro-se motions and private attorney motions
  • Process and data entry incoming mail
  • Check parties in when they arrive at court
  • Update and verify parties’ information
  • Assist in drafting Court Orders
  • Answer incoming calls, transfer to appropriate personnel and forward problem calls to the supervisor
  • Enter Court Orders with the Clerk and make copies
  • Update and process cases once they return from court
  • Mail court orders and other documentation
  • Keep files organized
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
