About The Position

This position is for a Course Lecturer for GPHL 201: Population and Global Health Ethics (3 credits) for the Fall 2026 semester. The course is an introduction to the concepts of ethics and equity in a broad range of applications, including power, privilege, and positionality. It explores the foundations of ethics as they apply to population and global health practice, including concepts of human rights, anti-racism, ethics, and equity, informed by an understanding of the legacy of colonization as they pertain to a wide array of global health issues. The course is located at Adams, 211 and scheduled for Wednesdays from 14:30 to 17:30.

Requirements

  • PhD degree in a global health, public health, or primary care field.
  • Prior experience in teaching global health at the undergraduate level.
  • Research/work experience in a Global South region.
  • Authorized to work in Canada.
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based.
  • Proficiency in English communication, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Teach GPHL 201: Population and Global Health Ethics (3 credits) in Fall 2026.
  • Deliver lectures and facilitate discussions on ethics and equity in population and global health.
  • Explore concepts of human rights, anti-racism, ethics, and equity in the context of global health issues and the legacy of colonization.
  • Engage students with topics of power, privilege, and positionality.
