About The Position

This course introduces students to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and its leadership role in the fight against illicit drugs and international crime. It will outline the three pillars of the UNODC's program, including field-based actions; research and analytical work; and normative work. This course will also include an introduction to the Education For Justice program and its connection to the UNODC's normative pillar, providing greater contextual discussion about the value of education as a primary means for battling criminality.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree
  • MA in Criminology, Sociology, or a related discipline that is clearly and directly connected to the course content.
  • CV (Maximum of 10 pages, with 12-point font and 2.54 cm margins).
  • Candidate Application Form (CAF - Appendix I).
  • Applicants must clearly outline only those qualifications which are relevant for each course for which they have applied and articulate how their work and academic experience enhances their ability to teach each course.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD or PhD in progress preferred.
  • Work and/or research experience relating to the substantive area of global crime prevention initiatives.
  • Prior teaching experience.
  • Verification of highest degree (highly recommended to include with application).
  • Name and contact information for referees.
  • Teaching Dossier and/or relevant supplementary documentation (Maximum of 25 pages in total, with 12-point font and 2.54 cm margins).
