About The Position

This course explores women, the law and crime. Topics may include gender and criminality, legal systems and law enforcement, and feminist and post-modern theories of criminal activity. The course is delivered virtually asynchronously, but requires the instructor to be present for an in-person exam during the exam period.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree
  • MA in Criminology, or a cognate discipline (e.g. sociology / psychology/ gender studies) with a focus on crime or deviance.
  • CV (Maximum of 10 pages, with 12-point font and 2.54 cm margins).
  • Candidate Application Form (CAF - Appendix I)
  • Name and contact information for referees (for external applicants).
  • Verification of highest degree (for external applicants, highly recommended to include with application).

Nice To Haves

  • Work experience in the field.
  • Prior teaching experience.
  • PhD or ABD preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course CC203 VA1 – Women, Law and Crime.
  • Be present for the administration and proctoring of the in-person final examination.
  • Develop course content and syllabi (note: the posting states courses are pre-developed, but also mentions instructor responsibility for syllabi).
