About The Position

In this role you will be responsible for picking up and delivering various items across hospital campuses or external locations. This includes medical records, laboratory specimens, medications, sterile supplies, interdepartmental mail, and other hospital materials. You will operate hospital vehicles or walk designated routes, ensuring proper handling and security of sensitive, confidential, or hazardous materials in compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and DOT regulations. The role requires maintaining accurate delivery logs, responding promptly to urgent requests, reporting vehicle issues, adhering to safety protocols, and maintaining a professional demeanor. Assistance with sorting, loading, and unloading deliveries may also be required. Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and duties may change.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED equivalent required
Valid PA driver’s license with no previous violations

Responsibilities

Pick up and deliver items including medical records, laboratory specimens, medications, sterile supplies, interdepartmental mail, and other hospital materials.
Operate hospital vehicles or walk designated routes to complete deliveries across hospital campuses or external locations.
Ensure proper handling and security of sensitive, confidential, or hazardous materials, following HIPAA, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
Maintain accurate delivery logs and obtain signatures for all pickups and drop-offs.
Respond to urgent and stat requests promptly and professionally.
Reporting any issues or required maintenance on courier vehicles.
Adhere to hospital infection prevention and safety protocols, including wearing appropriate PPE.
Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with staff, patients, and the public.
Assist with sorting, loading, and unloading deliveries as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or department leadership.
