About The Position

Adventist Health Sierra Vista is a 162-bed acute care facility on California’s Central Coast. The Courier delivers courier and interdepartmental mail, assists with stock clerk duties and distribution and inventory management, and delivers and receives clean and soiled items. The position also coordinates, implements, and leads the daily patient transportation strategy to support safe operations of the patient transportation system. This position is represented by SEIU.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and must be at least 21 years of age.
• Adventist Health requires associates to receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable; medical and religious exemptions may apply.

Nice To Haves

• High school education/GED or equivalent.
• Associate’s/technical degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver required items.
• Maintain logs of all calls.
• Conduct vehicle safety inspections and maintenance.
• Support the clinical laboratory by dropping off and picking up incoming and outgoing laboratory specimens or biohazardous substances.
• Maintain and adhere to department and position quality and productivity standards.
• Ensure safe handling of materials and the general public while operating transportation.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
