Courier II - 2nd shift
About The Position
Labcorp is seeking a Courier II to join its team in New York, NY. The position is responsible for picking up, transporting, and delivering medical specimens, lab supplies, and reports while providing excellent service to clients. The Courier II acts as a floater for the logistics team, providing coverage for various routes and assisting with dispatch and pickups as needed. The position includes use of a company vehicle for the route, with the option to take the vehicle home and use it personally for $125 per month. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with the ability to cover first and third shifts and weekends as needed. Pay is $18.10–$21.00 per hour, with a second-shift differential. Job offers are based on candidates’ skills and relevant experience, applicable degrees or certifications, internal equity, and market data.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of driver or courier experience.
- Very punctual, with strong time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to solve customer issues.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and meet the physical demands of the position.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of customer service experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide as-needed coverage for various routes as a floater for the logistics team.
- Provide on-route training for new couriers and drivers.
- Assist with dispatch and pickups when needed.
- Load all necessary supplies for daily pickups.
- Complete the daily pickup schedule in a timely manner.
- Deliver all daily pickups to the branch at the end of the shift.
- Handle specimens and lab samples safely and efficiently.
- Safely operate a company vehicle and obey all traffic laws.
- Use a handheld electronic device to manage daily pickups.
- Work directly with the dispatcher for additional pickups as needed.
- Evaluate traffic patterns, alternative routes, and weather conditions as needed.
- Pick up, transport, and deliver medical specimens, lab supplies, and reports while providing excellent client service.
