About The Position

Fort Garry Industries (FGI) is seeking a motivated Counter Sales Representative for their EDMONTON EAST BRANCH. FGI is a leading provider of truck and trailer parts, sales, and service in Canada with over 100 years of experience. This role is customer-facing, assisting customers in person and over the phone with selecting and purchasing heavy-duty parts and equipment. The goal is to deliver an exceptional customer experience by working collaboratively with branch team members.

Requirements

• 1-5 years of experience selling heavy-duty parts sales, or a similar industry (Agriculture, Equipment, Trailers) preferred
• High school diploma or other equivalency certificate
• Able to lift parts upwards of 50 -75 lbs.
• Able to use ladders at varying heights
• Frequently walk in a large warehouse
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and other standard office equipment
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong communication skills, including both written and verbal
• Team-oriented, adaptable, with a commitment to safety excellence

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a parts technician trades program is preferred but not required
• Proficiency with multiple languages (Hindi, Punjabi or Urdu) is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Provide product knowledge and expertise in selling aftermarket heavy-duty parts to customers and build long-lasting customer relationships
• Optimize each transaction by advising on products, product applications, returns, warranty claims, and special orders to meet all customer needs
• Answer customer questions about products, prices, availability, product catalogues, and features
• Assist with cash and/or national accounts
• Follow company procedures for sales pricing, processing approved credits, invoicing, and freight billing for customers and/or product defects
• Complete online training as needed and champion brand lines or products
• May be assigned special projects
• May operate a forklift within the branch
• Other duties as assigned
