About The Position

The Counter Sales Associate supports paint store operations by providing customer service and helping customers select paint and related materials. The role assists customers in person and by phone with product questions and orders, prepares paint to customer specifications, processes transactions, supports inventory activities, and may deliver products using a company vehicle. The position also includes general store tasks such as stocking and cleaning. Store hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The store is closed Sundays, and flexible scheduling is offered.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license.
• Punctual and dependable.
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work as a team player.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds of paint and paint products.
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Ability to distinguish between colors.
• High school diploma or comparable certification (GED).
• Physical ability to stand, stoop, kneel, bend, walk, reach overhead, grip, squat, and carry products to and from delivery and customer vehicles and to areas within the store.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
• Prior experience in delivery, retail sales, cashiering, or customer service is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and advise customers on product selection and uses.
• Assist customers in person and by phone with questions and orders for architectural, commercial, and industrial paint products and coating materials.
• Prepare orders by mixing or tinting paint to customer specifications.
• Identify and match paint colors accurately.
• Process cash and credit card transactions accurately and maintain a cash drawer properly.
• Assist with inventory and processing incoming stock.
• Load and unload materials for customers.
• Load and unload delivery vehicles as needed.
• Occasionally deliver products safely and efficiently to customers using a company vehicle.
• Provide a high level of customer service and ensure customers are satisfied with products and services.
• Collaborate with coworkers and management to maintain a smooth workflow.
• Perform miscellaneous store tasks, including stocking and cleaning.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
