Counter Sales Associate - Full Time - Joplin, MO
About The Position
The Counter Sales Associate supports store operations by providing customer service and helping customers select paint and related materials. The role includes assisting customers in person and by phone, preparing paint orders to customer specifications, processing transactions, supporting inventory tasks, and occasionally making deliveries with a company vehicle. It also involves general store duties such as stocking and cleaning. Store hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Saturday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm; the store is closed Sundays. Flexible scheduling is offered.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Punctual and dependable.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds of paint and paint products.
- Basic computer and math skills.
- Ability to distinguish between colors.
- High school diploma or comparable certification (GED).
- Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, bend, walk, reach overhead, grip, squat, and carry products to and from delivery and customer vehicles and areas within the store.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
- Prior experience in delivery, retail sales, cashiering, or customer service is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Greet and advise customers on product selection and uses.
- Assist customers in person and over the phone with questions and orders for architectural, commercial, and industrial paint products and coating materials.
- Prepare orders by mixing or tinting paint to customer specifications.
- Identify and match paint colors accurately.
- Process cash and credit card transactions accurately and maintain a cash drawer.
- Assist with inventory and processing incoming stock.
- Load and unload materials for customers and delivery vehicles as needed.
- Occasionally deliver products safely and efficiently using a company vehicle.
- Provide a high level of customer service and help ensure customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with coworkers and management to maintain a smooth workflow.
- Perform miscellaneous store tasks, including stocking and cleaning.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
