About The Position

The Sales Associate assists with receiving, stocking, and pricing merchandise and helps maintain clean, orderly merchandise displays and overall store cleanliness. The role provides friendly, customized customer service, helps customers solve problems, and supports daily store operations. Associates contribute to a positive, professional, and safe work environment and are expected to reflect the company’s Core Values in their decisions and interactions.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and climb.
Friendly, outgoing demeanor and ability to work well with customers and associates.
Ability to demonstrate and incorporate the company’s Core Values into daily work.

Nice To Haves

Formal retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Represent Westlake Ace Hardware positively and provide helpful, customized customer service throughout the store.
Greet customers, thank them for their visits, and respond to pages and calls promptly, courteously, and effectively.
Help customers solve problems using product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and product locations.
Refer customer complaints that cannot be resolved to management.
Assist with receiving, checking in, stocking, and maintaining back-stock merchandise.
Help maintain the sales floor, stock room, and outdoor merchandise area, including cleanliness and orderliness.
Maintain clean and orderly sales-floor displays, including end caps and advertised merchandise.
Assist with merchandise resets, price changes, special orders, and keeping store signage current.
Operate a forklift after receiving proper training.
Communicate Store Support Center issues, and merchandising, cost-control, or sales ideas, to the General Manager.
Participate in store meetings and maintain professional appearance and conduct.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Help create a positive, professional, and safe work environment.
