About The Position

The Counter Sales Associate supports paint store operations by providing customer service and helping customers select paint and related materials. The role includes preparing orders by mixing and tinting paint, matching colors, processing transactions, assisting with inventory, and maintaining the store. Deliveries may be made as needed using a company vehicle. Store hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; the store is closed Sundays. Flexible scheduling is offered.

Requirements

Valid driver's license.
Punctuality and dependability.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds of paint and paint products.
Basic computer and math skills.
Ability to distinguish between colors.
High school diploma or GED/comparable certification.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, walking, reaching overhead, gripping, squatting, and carrying products to and from delivery and customer vehicles and areas within the store.
Candidates must be able to pass a background check and/or MVR check, as applicable for the role.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual Spanish/English skills.
Prior experience in delivery, retail sales, cashiering, or customer service; experience is not required.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and advise them on product selection and uses.
Assist customers in person and by phone with questions and orders for architectural, commercial, and industrial paint products and coating materials.
Mix and tint paint to customer specifications.
Identify and match paint colors accurately.
Process cash and credit card transactions and maintain the cash drawer.
Assist with inventory and processing incoming stock.
Load and unload materials for customers.
Load and unload delivery vehicles as needed.
Occasionally deliver products to customers safely and efficiently using a company vehicle.
Provide a high level of customer service and ensure customers are satisfied with products and services.
Collaborate with coworkers and management to maintain a smooth workflow.
Perform general store tasks such as stocking and cleaning.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
