Counter/Inside Sales Associate - Plumbing & HVAC
About The Position
DSG is seeking a Plumbing & HVAC Counter/Inside Sales Associate in its Pierre, South Dakota location. This full-time, hourly position supports growth of Plumbing & HVAC sales in the Pierre area through duties at both the City Desk and Inside Sales department. Work is typically performed Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., though hours may occasionally vary according to business needs. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Product and technical knowledge normally acquired through two or more years of college or technical school, or 3–5 years of field experience in residential or commercial applications of Plumbing & HVAC products.
- Excellent relationship-building skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills across in-person, phone, and email settings.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Ability to actively listen to determine customer needs.
- Superior problem-solving, project-management, and analytical skills.
- High proficiency with computers.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively.
- Physical ability to frequently lift and load items weighing 30–70 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Eclipse or other ERP systems.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary facilitator for customer orders.
- Assist customers professionally with product inquiries.
- Write orders accurately and promptly, and occasionally assist with filling them.
- Generate customer quotations and follow up on requested quotes.
- Provide troubleshooting and technical support.
- Work with other sales team members to resolve customer service issues in a timely manner.
- Restock the counter area according to product brand and location.
- Monitor product inventory and cull damaged products.
- Maintain a clean and appealing counter display area.
- Identify and encourage the sale of additional products when applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
