About The Position

The Indiana Sexual Offender Management and Monitoring Program, a collaboration between the Indiana Department of Correction and Liberty Healthcare, aims to reduce recidivism among convicted adult and adjudicated juvenile sexual offenders. As a Counselor 2 with Liberty, you will provide in-person behavioral health services to adult sex offender inmates at the New Castle Correctional Facility, helping them improve their behavioral health, prevent sexual abuse, and enhance community safety. This is a full-time position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, school counseling or a related human services field
  • At least one year of experience working with criminal, forensic, or psychiatric populations
  • Solid public speaking and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively educate adults on the topics of sexual abuse and prosocial behavior

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or pursuing a master's degree and professional licensure in clinical social work, counseling, psychology, or marriage and family therapy

Responsibilities

  • Developing proficiency with the program’s curriculum on the prevention of sexual abuse
  • Facilitating psycho-educational group sessions
  • Providing clients with information about the program – individually and in groups
  • Monitoring client progress
  • Reviewing client files, documenting client progress notes, and writing reports
  • Participating in staff meetings, case conferences, and training activities
