About The Position

As an Unlicensed Counselor at Diversus Health, you will provide essential behavioral health services to the community. This full-time, non-exempt role offers the opportunity to earn quarterly incentive pay in addition to your base salary, with most counselors averaging over $1,000 per quarter. As a nonprofit organization, Diversus Health employees may also be eligible for the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. We offer a variety of clinical opportunities based on your interests, experience, and professional development goals, including Adult Counseling, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), and Youth & Family Counseling. You will gain supervised clinical experience toward professional licensure and work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, developing skills in assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and evidence-based therapy. Requirements

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field
  • Experience providing therapy, assessments, case management, behavioral health services, or related clinical support preferred
  • Strong communication, clinical judgment, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to professional development and obtaining licensure within two years preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, and evidence-based therapeutic services.
  • Conduct risk assessments, crisis intervention, and safety planning.
  • Maintain timely, compliant documentation and quality standards.
  • Use client feedback and outcomes to guide treatment and engagement.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support effective client care and caseload management.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy for adults experiencing mental health and substance use concerns.
  • Utilize evidence-based, strengths-based treatment approaches.
  • Support specialized services including intensive outpatient programming (IOP), relapse prevention, and justice-involved populations.
  • Deliver community-based behavioral health services for adults with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI).
  • Support client engagement, recovery goals, skill development, and community integration.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy to children, adolescents, and families.
  • Collaborate with caregivers, schools, and community partners to support treatment goals.
  • Utilize evidence-based interventions, skills groups, and family-centered approaches.
