This role involves assessing children, adolescents, and/or adults in psychiatric crisis for hospitalization and facilitating hospitalization when needed. It also includes providing crisis counseling and coordination to stabilize psychiatric crises for clients who do not meet hospitalization criteria. Maintaining client records in the electronic health record is a key responsibility, along with demonstrating professional, positive behavior and carrying out responsibilities with integrity, treating all individuals with dignity, respect, honesty, and fairness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, or related field required.
  • Background check, both criminal and DCFS, clearance required.
  • Certification in IM CAT and/or IM CANS required.
  • Completion of HFS trainings (de-escalation, Crisis Safety Planning, Mobile Crisis) required.
  • Trained and proficient in the use of electronic health care record required.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience working with clients in the community.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent organization, presentation, and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
  • Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Access to reliable transportation required.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury, and property damage required.

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess children, adolescents, and/or adults in psychiatric crisis for hospitalization and facilitate hospitalization at location of need.
  • Provide crisis counseling and coordination to help stabilize current psychiatric crisis if client doesn’t not meet criteria for inpatient hospitalization.
  • Maintain client record in the electronic health record in accordance with licensure and accreditation standards.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest, and fair manner.
