Counselor 1 - Part-time - UT Orem
About The Position
Provide direct counseling services, consultation to ecclesiastical leaders, community resource development and referral, and support to other staff while working under clinical supervision to obtain independent licensure. As approved, provide program supervision, ecclesiastical outreach, and professional training to other staff. Provide quality customer service and comply with policy, licensing requirements, and professional standards of practice. If categorized as on-call or part-time, working hours are not to exceed 19 hours per week. Church employees use their talents and abilities to further the Church’s work. Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology, or a related degree leading to clinical licensure.
- Associate, Intermediate, or Interim license is required (ASW/CSW/MFT).
- Obtain an independent practice license within 3–5 years.
- Demonstrate basic clinical skills and receptiveness to feedback.
- LDS Family Services Executive Council approval.
- Must be a Church member worthy of a temple recommend.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical care under structured supervision while working toward independent licensure.
- Provide consultation and develop and maintain positive relationships with church leaders.
- Ensure legal, ethical, and policy compliance.
- Identify and develop community resources.
- Take responsibility for continued professional development.
- Protect and ensure client confidentiality.
- Develop and fulfill a whole-area service plan, including travel to outlying areas and overnight stays as needed, and work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
