About The Position

This internship focuses on supporting the Counseling Division through Network Expansion Analysis, Marketing and Branding Support, and Data Management and Digital Cataloguing. The intern will research areas lacking housing counseling agencies, identify potential partner organizations, and assist in evaluating and promoting the housing counseling industry. Responsibilities also include reviewing and ensuring consistent branding, developing creative promotional approaches, and creating a digital catalog of existing agencies. Additionally, the intern will organize internal information, manage updates from various teams, and develop systems for improved collaboration.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a degree program related to public administration, social services, urban planning, marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office Suite and familiarity with digital file organization systems.
  • Must be a resident of Pennsylvania.
  • Must be able to work at the Harrisburg location a minimum of two days a week.

  • Interest in housing policy, nonprofit management, or community development is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Research counties without housing counseling agencies (HCAs) and analyze gaps in service coverage.
  • Identify and assess potential organizations that could join the PHFA Housing Counseling Network.
  • Conduct outreach to evaluate interest and gather information on operational models and funding sources.
  • Evaluate current marketing strategies and identify innovative ways to promote the housing counseling industry.
  • Review HCA websites to ensure consistent branding and messaging throughout the network.
  • Develop creative approaches to highlight the value and impact of housing counseling services.
  • Assist in creating a comprehensive digital file for all existing HCAs.
  • Organize and catalog internal information, including compliance notes and business development updates.
  • Develop systems to streamline collaboration and improve communication between the Compliance team and the Senior Business Development Officer.
