About The Position

As a Cosmetologist, you are responsible for cutting and styling hair, including color treatments and other hair enhancement services scheduled by spa concierges. You provide professional treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices, and contribute to the overall operation of the spa. The position requires guest service, product and service knowledge, sanitation practices, and the ability to work without direct supervision.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• Completion of an accredited cosmetology program.
• Current Michigan Cosmetologist license.
• Previous cosmetology experience.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Interest in and ability to contribute to a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent professional treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
• Care for equipment properly and use appropriate amounts of product to assist with cost controls.
• Maintain complete knowledge and understanding of services and products, and educate and train guests in these areas.
• Promote home care programs and meet minimum retail sales goals.
• Uphold sanitation and sterilization standards as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures.
• Perform prep work and clean and restock rooms as required.
• Communicate to management occurrences involving staff or guests that require attention.
• Promote the spa, treatments, services, sessions, retail, programs, promotions, and available discounts.
• Handle guests’ questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
• Provide accurate, appropriate, and immediate responses to guest requests to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Work without direct supervision.
• Attend, participate in, and support spa trainings and staff meetings.
• Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.
