Cosmetic Repair Associate - Overnights 7p - 6a M-TH
About The Position
As a Cosmetic Repair Associate, you help ensure every CarMax vehicle meets quality standards during reconditioning. The role performs Paintless Dent Repair (PDR), cosmetic wheel restoration, and interior cosmetic repairs involving fabric, vinyl, leather, plastic, and carpet, including dye and color matching. Associates follow standardized processes and detailed work instructions, remove and replace vehicle parts as needed, provide service to internal teams and external customers, and help ensure vehicles meet CarMax quality and safety requirements. The role also requires following Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and maintaining a clean, orderly work area. This overnight position is at CarMax’s Kansas City location in Merriam, Kansas. The listed schedule is 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday through Thursday. The hourly rate is $21.70–$30.40. Requirements
- Complete New Associate Orientation Training – Operations.
- Meet performance and workstation certification standards.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail for data interpretation and record accuracy.
- Be capable of performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
- Be physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and work indoors and outdoors, including in inclement weather.
- Have effective communication skills for customer and team interactions.
- Have flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, holidays, and 12-hour shifts.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced cosmetic repairs, including Paintless Dent Removal (PDR), wheel refinishing, and interior restoration, to meet CarMax standards.
- Follow standardized processes and detailed work instructions to deliver consistent quality.
- Remove and replace vehicle parts as needed during reconditioning.
- Provide service to internal teams and external customers.
- Ensure vehicles meet CarMax quality and safety requirements.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Benefits
- Paid sick time: up to 48 hours per year, accrued each pay period, for eligible full-time hourly or commission/incentive-eligible associates.
- Paid vacation time: 80 to 200 hours per year after a 90-day waiting period, depending on years of continuous service, for eligible full-time hourly or commission/incentive-eligible associates.
- Paid holidays: 8 hours of pay for each of six scheduled holidays per year, plus one floating holiday, for eligible full-time hourly or commission/incentive-eligible associates.
- Holiday Premium Pay when eligible associates work on a scheduled holiday due to business need.
- Full-time salaried associates receive paid time away as needed for sick leave, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, and floating holidays, subject to manager approval.
