About The Position

The Corrugator Specialist is a full-time position in the Operational Excellence Blackshirt Group, reporting to the Operational Excellence Corrugator Team Lead. This job requires full-time North American travel, Monday morning through Friday afternoon, an average of 45 weeks per year.

Requirements

  • 10+ years industry/corrugator experience at all levels of operations
  • 5+ years' experience with corrugated machine mechanical & electrical installation and troubleshooting
  • Associates degree minimum or B.S. in a technical discipline
  • Experience with automated corrugator control systems, particularly Copar & Qualitek systems
  • Proficient in the development and delivery of technical training
  • Experience with corrugators planning responsibilities using Kiwiplan
  • Knowledge of corrugating machinery from various manufacturers
  • Ability to engage corrugator employees and manufacturing plant leaders
  • Continuous improvement mindset - understanding the business metrics of safety, quality, productivity, costs, and work to improve operational results

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with OEMs for corrugator equipment is highly desired

Responsibilities

  • Active involvement with process improvement efforts and continued training of operating crews
  • Diagnosing chronic equipment failures and advising on corrective actions
  • Acting as a liaison between equipment suppliers and adhesive vendors to ensure their products and services are meeting facility and division specifications
  • Identifying root causes for quality and productivity non-conformances and assisting corrugating teams with corrective actions
  • Mastering all corrugating aspects of the IP Manufacturing Reliability System. Developing and delivering MRS – related curriculum at regional and national workshops
  • Educate and coach manufacturing plants on usage of systems, process and tools related to centerlining and inspection SPIs
  • Advise plants on preventive/predictive maintenance plans in an effort to keep corrugator equipment in peak operating condition
  • Involvement with new capital installations and assisting operating crews with training and start up
  • Coach corrugator supervisors on technical and leadership aspects of managing and engaging an operating crew
  • Responsible for working with plant teams to show demonstrated improvement in corrugator department performance (uptime, speeds, waste) across the Packaging Solutions North America
