About The Position

Internal promotion opportunity for current Walla Walla County Corrections Department employees. Working under the direction of the Jail Commander, the Corrections Sergeant provides oversight and direction to Correctional Officers in all functional areas of the Walla Walla County Correctional Facility. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, non-exempt position in the Corrections Union. Benefits apply. Selection is based on the written examination, panel interview, and review of the candidate’s cover letter and resume.

Requirements

• Must have successfully served through the employee’s probationary period.
• Must be a current employee of the Walla Walla County Corrections Department.
• Must have at least two years of experience as a Correctional Officer with Walla Walla County.
• Candidates should be familiar with all functional areas of the Walla Walla County Corrections Facility.
• Submit a Walla Walla County application, resume, and cover letter.
• Eligible candidates must pass a written examination and participate in a panel interview.
