This position is open to Alaska Residents only. The Division of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is recruiting to fill a part-time Corrections Nurse 1/2 position located in Kenai at the Kenai Peninsula Youth Facility. Under the supervision of higher-level nurses, and in accordance with an established training plan, the Corrections Nurse 1/2 (CN 1/2) performs developmental duties independently assessing, monitoring, and maintaining the physical well-being of the residents at the Kenai Peninsula Youth Facility, a 24-hour secure facility. The CN 1/2 provides direct care within their scope of practice and utilizes medical protocols, when necessary and available, to meet the health needs of the residents. When medical conditions are beyond their scope or protocols, the CN 1/2 refers the resident to a higher level of care. This is a flexibly staffed CN 1/2 position. The CN 1 incumbent, upon completing the probationary period and acquiring the necessary competencies through the training plan, may progress to a CN 2.
