Requirements
- Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades work; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Direct inmate work crews as they complete maintenance, construction, groundskeeping, and janitorial tasks
- Plan daily inmate schedules, assign tasks, and review completed work
- Provide instruction on operating machinery and vehicles and performing preventative maintenance
- Assist maintenance staff with semi-skilled and skilled tasks in carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, refrigeration, masonry, steam-fitting, welding, and other skilled trades
- Issue, inventory, and track tools and materials and conduct searches to ensure accountability
- Exercise technical independence to identify required tools and materials, guide inmates in carrying out work routines, and establish plans and procedures
