Requirements
- Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.
- Ability to perform essential job functions.
- Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Train inmates in food preparation, production, service, baking, and safe equipment use
- Inspect equipment, food, and work areas to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards
- Review menus, adjust recipes, recycle leftovers, and manage food and supply storage
- Assign inmate work tasks, review performance, and maintain accurate worker records
- Maintain care, custody, and control of inmates during work activities
