About The Position
The Reception and Treatment Center is accepting applications for the position of Canteen Operator. This role offers a $3/hour facility differential for hours worked. Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Have either a high school education OR have experience working in a retail setting.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance.
- Must pass a medical exam.
- Must pass a drug test.
- Must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in a canteen, retail grocery or similar setting.
- Experience operating computer and calculator.
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish desired and assessed.
Responsibilities
- Operates the inmate canteen to include requisition of supplies, maintaining inventory control, processing related paperwork, processing inmate special orders and answering inmate correspondence.
- Assigns and directs the work activities of inmate workers.
- Serve, supervise and train inmate workers in canteen principles, policies and procedures.
- Manage small supply room, receive deliveries.
- Order inmate clothing and control inventory.
