It has eight living units and houses approximately 1,500 incarcerated people, with about 600 screened and assessed each month. The facility also serves as a major transfer hub for offenders moving to and from facilities throughout the state. Its custody levels include medium, close, and maximum. They must attend six weeks of full-time paid training immediately upon hire and may be considered for permanent full-time or temporary vacancies as they arise.
