About The Position

Shamin Hotels is seeking a full-time, permanent Corporate Transition General Manager to lead hotel turnarounds across its portfolio in Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic. The role supports hotels during major transitions, including acquisitions, brand conversions, property improvement plans, and leadership gaps. The General Manager assesses each property, stabilizes operations, and improves guest scores, cleanliness, brand standards, and financial performance, while building a stronger, more confident team.

Between hotel assignments, the role works on company-wide projects with the COO and VP of Operations. This is an ongoing position with Shamin Hotels rather than a contract or task-force assignment. The company describes a varied work environment and flexibility to travel and work varied schedules, including some weekends.

Requirements

• Experience with Hilton and Marriott standards, systems, and quality assurance is required.
• At least 2 years of experience as a General Manager, ideally in select-service hotels.
• A demonstrated track record of hotel turnarounds, including improved scores, rebuilt teams, or measurable results.
• Strong financial skills and comfort managing a profit and loss statement.
• Flexibility to travel and work varied schedules, including some weekends.
• A valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assess each hotel and develop a practical 30/60/90-day improvement plan.
• Lead hotels toward quality assurance readiness and passing scores across the company's brand families.
• Coach front-line teams to improve guest service and guest scores.
• Hire, train, and mentor team members and develop future leaders.
• Manage hotel revenue, payroll, and expenses.
• Support hotels during acquisitions, brand conversions, property improvement plans, and leadership gaps.
• Work with the COO and VP of Operations on projects that advance the company between hotel assignments.
