About The Position

The Systems Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling associates and vendors. This individual is accountable for the Windows systems that support Omni Hotels & Resorts corporate infrastructure as well as our properties across North America. Responsibilities on these systems include engineering and provisioning, operations and support, maintenance and research and development to ensure continual innovation.

Requirements

  • Experience with administering cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and Cloudflare
  • Dell Server and storage infrastructure preferred (PowerEdge, Powervault, vxRail)
  • SAN experience
  • Anti-spam/Email Security experience
  • NGAV, EDR, WAF, etc. Security tool experience preferred
  • Office 365 Administration and Exchange Server experience
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2014+
  • Microsoft Server 2012 R2 and above experience required
  • Active Directory administration (FSMO roles, group policy, etc.)
  • DNS, WINS, DHCP, IIS, SSL, etc.
  • MFA (Okta and Azure SSO/IAM preferred)
  • A strong security focus is required. Prefer experience with EDR, SIEM, DLP, Browser Isolation, etc.
  • VPN (client/server and site-to-site)
  • Virtualization (VMware, Horizon VDI, vSAN, DRS) is required.
  • Linux experience and administration is a plus
  • Ability to troubleshoot PBX/Telephony/VOIP hardware and software
  • Windows scripting (VBScript, PowerShell, etc.)
  • Firewall configuration and troubleshooting
  • TCP/IP networking (switch/router configuration, VLANs, subnetting, etc.)
  • Six years or more systems administration or engineering experience
  • Experience using Cisco Networking hardware and software (routing, switching, and firewall) preferred
  • Expert experience with VMware 7 or higher preferred
  • Expert experience with Veeam Backup and Replication preferred

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Engineering of related solutions for various project and operational needs.
  • Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with best practices and project/operational requirements.
  • Document and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
  • Contribute to and maintain system standards.
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Work along with the Security team to identify any possible vulnerabilities and remediate those systems.
  • Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media.
  • Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary.
  • Utilize our Ticketing system to provide support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
  • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
  • Support our property management and reservation system infrastructure for maximum uptime and reliability.
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
  • Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.
  • Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
  • Responsibilities will require being on call and at times working off hours based on critical system outages, upgrades, etc.
