About The Position

Ultra Intelligence & Communications (Ultra I&C) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Systems Administrator for an onsite position in Tampa, FL. This role is full-time with occasional off-hours and on-call work. The Systems Administrator will have primary responsibility for supporting our Tampa, FL and Germantown, MD employees, collaborating with other US IT team members, as well as assisting the ISSM in ensuring full compliance with the NIST Risk Management Framework, DAAPM, and NISPOM. This position will provide hands-on support for all classified and unclassified systems in the Tampa and Germantown facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years’ experience or Associate’s Degree with 5+ years of experience or High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 7+ years of experience.
  • Active or recently active (within the past two years) US Government Secret Security Clearance required.
  • Ability to acquire a US Government Secret Security Clearance required.
  • Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
  • At least 2-3 years of Microsoft Active Directory and Windows Server administration experience.
  • At least 2-3 years of Windows Security Policy and Group Policy experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience installing, maintaining, and supporting hardware and software in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • At least 2-3 years of network administration and/or support experience.
  • At least 1-2 years of VMware administration experience.
  • At least 1-2 years of Storage Area Network (SAN) administration experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with M365 and Azure Entra administration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to interface effectively with multiple faculty and staff on issues within the area of sponsored research in a cooperative, responsible manner.
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange and the Microsoft Office product suite.
  • Working knowledge of the DAAPM, NIST SP 800-53, RMF, and NISPOM.
  • MCSE, MCSA, MCITP, MCTS or related Microsoft Certification a plus.
  • CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CCNA, CCNP or related IT security and/or network certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with installing and managing enterprise applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint intranet administration.
  • Experience working with change approval boards/processes.
  • Cisco switching, routing, firewall and VPN experience.
  • Video conferencing and VoIP phone system administration.
  • Ability to adapt to ongoing changes in technology and in a mixed environment with a variety of systems.
  • Ability to quickly get up to speed on new solutions or situations and to disseminate information gathered to others as needed.
  • Enjoys working at speed, when necessary but also able to plan and consider options.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with colleagues and end-users to ensure solutions meet business requirements and are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot and provide solutions to end user requests or problems as well as any hardware or software faults.
  • Perform systems, network, and application administration as well as support functions.
  • Participate in and lead local IT projects
  • Provide technical support and serve as local escalation point for IT systems issues.
  • Perform post-solution follow up to ensure end user satisfaction.
  • Write knowledgebase articles to document new solutions.
  • Be able to work well as part of a close national team and exercise local independence
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Ability to identify risks and propose mitigation strategies to technical and business audiences.
  • Maintain compliance with classified computing regulations.
  • Ensure systems and data are protected, operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies and practices as outlined in the RMF document package.
  • Provide clear guidance to company employees and recommend modifications to operations policies and/or procedures as appropriate.
  • Support ISSM with preparations, reviews, and updates to system authorization packages and local audits.
  • Notify the ISSM of changes affecting local ATOs.
  • Coordinate any changes to hardware, software, or firmware with the ISSM prior to any change.
  • Support system vulnerability identification and patching.
  • Follow approved procedures for clearing, sanitizing, and destroying hardware and media.
  • Carry out any other duties as required.
