About The Position

This 10-week summer internship in Planning & Trust Services is centered on professional development, career growth, and building skills for success. Interns participate in projects and department initiatives, gain exposure to other departments through guest speakers and industry leaders, and build a network with peers. Interns also receive priority consideration for full-time opportunities throughout the Bank. Wilmington Trust is a nationally recognized leader in fiduciary services. Wealth Management Trust Services administers generations of family wealth through personal trusts on behalf of M&T Bank, Wilmington Trust, NA, and Wilmington Trust Company as trustee. Individual Trust Officers work in accordance with Wilmington Trust policies and procedures and contribute to its heritage of fiduciary responsibility. The intern performs entry-level professional duties specific to the assigned area of the Bank under immediate supervision. The role is based in Wilmington, Delaware.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Work visa sponsorship is not offered for this role.

Responsibilities

Complete entry-level professional duties specific to the assigned area of the Bank.
Ensure activities adhere to established internal policies and applicable external regulations.
Understand and follow the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with its Risk Appetite.
Identify risk-related issues that need escalation to management.
Design, implement, maintain, and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis.
Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points and applicable issues raised by external regulators.
Complete other related duties as assigned.
