About The Position

The Corporate Security Operations Lead (CSO) administers and executes the Credit Union’s Physical Security Program and serves as the primary authority for day-to-day security operations and incident response. This role is responsible for protecting employees, members, tenants, facilities and organizational assets by assessing risk, determining appropriate response actions, and implementing effective security controls. The position exercises independent judgment and discretion in managing security incidents, including after-hours events, and ensures coordinated response with internal stakeholders and external agencies. The Corporate Security Operations Lead serves as the primary decision-maker during active security incidents and is authorized to implement immediate protective measures, including access restrictions, lockdowns, and escalation to emergency services. The role operates without the need for prior approval from Safety or other departments during active incidents. While this role is responsible for operational execution and program administration, security strategy, governance, and long-term planning remain the responsibility of the Director of Facilities and Administrative Services. This position collaborates closely with Facilities, Safety (ERM), Business Continuity, People Experience, Branch leadership, and Vendor Management to maintain a secure, safe and compliant environment.

Requirements

  • High school degree required
  • Five or more years of experience in physical security
  • Managed and/ or administered access control systems, CCTV platforms, alarm systems, and incident investigations.

Nice To Haves

  • Five or more years of experience in physical security, preferably in a financial institution or regulated environment
  • Support of facilities operations or projects, preferred
  • Collaborated with local and federal law enforcement agencies to support investigations, coordinate responses, and ensure appropriate handling of security incidents, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain the operational components of the Physical Security Program aligned with strategic direction set by the Director.
  • Develop, update, and communicate physical security procedures, standards, workflows and operational controls.
  • Conduct recurring security assessments and identifies corrective actions for physical security risks.
  • Recommend system and workflow improvements based on operational needs and industry practices.
  • Lead response to security incidents, alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations, determining appropriate actions based on risk assessment.
  • Serve as the incident lead for physical security events, coordinating response efforts and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Assesses threats, prioritizes response actions, and implements immediate protective measures to mitigate risk.
  • Maintain responsibility for after-hours security response, escalation and coordination.
  • Coordinate directly with law enforcement and emergency services during active incidents.
  • Conduct site presence and security assessments to identify risks, validate controls, and deter potential threats.
  • Manage behavioral and threat-related risks, including workplace violence concerns and disruptive individuals.
  • Determine and implements appropriate actions related to Temporary Restraining Orders (TROs), trespass directives, and access restrictions.
  • Conduct threat assessments and determines appropriate escalation or intervention measures.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with law enforcement regarding criminal activity, threats and investigations.
  • Lead security incident investigations, including evidence collection, interviews and documentation.
  • Analyze incident trends to identify vulnerabilities and recommends mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare reports for leadership on security incidents, risks, and operational improvements.
  • Maintain documentation in support of audits, compliance and legal requirements.
  • Promote security awareness across the organization through communication and engagement.
  • Partner with Safety to ensure alignment between prevention programs and response expectations.
  • Participate in drills, tabletop exercises, and business continuity exercises.
  • Partner with Safety (ERM) on emergency preparedness, drills, and post incident review.
  • Collaborate with People Experience on workplace violence concerns, TROs, and employee-related security matters.
  • Coordinate with Facilities on system infrastructure, construction projects, and vendor activity.
