JOB SUMMARY The Corporate Sales Manager is responsible for proactively soliciting, securing, and growing corporate transient business for Equinox Hotel New York, with a primary focus on local and national corporate accounts. This role serves as the Total Account Manager for assigned accounts and is responsible for building and maintaining strategic relationships with travel managers, procurement teams, executive assistants, meeting planners, and key corporate decision-makers. In addition to managing corporate transient accounts, the Corporate Sales Manager is responsible for handling mini-group opportunities of up to nine (9) rooms on peak and identifying opportunities to convert transient demand into extended stay and small group business. The role requires a strong hunter mentality, with a focus on developing new corporate relationships and driving market share growth in a highly competitive New York City luxury market. Client relationship development is a core component of this role, including appropriate client entertainment such as business meals, site visits, hotel tours, and other relationship-building activities designed to strengthen long-term corporate partnerships. The position may also support select luxury leisure, consortia, and strategic transient partnerships as business needs evolve. This role is accountable for achieving revenue, market share, and profitability goals while maintaining the Equinox Hotels luxury positioning. The ideal candidate is a proactive, self-motivated sales professional with a proven ability to build new business, cultivate long-term relationships, and consistently exceed sales targets. This role reports directly to the Director of Luxury Sales.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of corporate transient sales strategy within a luxury or lifestyle hotel environment.
  • Proven hunter mentality with demonstrated ability to generate new corporate business through prospecting and relationship development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Delphi, Infor HMS, and Hotelligence (Agency360).
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to structure and close corporate rate agreements.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage senior-level executives.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a competitive, fast-paced market.
  • Ability to conduct client site visits and hotel tours as needed.
  • Ability to listen, speak, and write English fluently to effectively respond to client needs.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of hotel sales experience, with at least 2 years focused on corporate transient sales within a luxury, lifestyle, or upper-upscale hotel environment.
  • Proven track record of proactively developing and closing new corporate business in a competitive urban market.
  • Experience managing local and national corporate accounts, negotiated rate programs, and transient production goals.
  • Strong understanding of corporate travel programs, procurement processes, and travel management companies (TMCs).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience handling mini-group business (up to 9 rooms on peak) strongly preferred.
  • Existing relationships within key NYC corporate sectors including finance, private equity, consulting, legal, technology, and media highly desirable.
  • Experience in luxury hospitality environments delivering high-touch guest and client experiences preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively develops, prospects, and grows local and national corporate transient accounts through direct sales efforts, cold outreach, networking, referrals, and strategic relationship development.
  • Identifies, solicits, negotiates, and secures new corporate business opportunities to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual room revenue goals.
  • Serves as the primary account owner for assigned corporate clients, building strong relationships with travel managers, procurement teams, executive assistants, and key decision-makers.
  • Negotiates preferred corporate agreements, rate programs, and volume-based partnerships while maximizing profitability and alignment with hotel strategy.
  • Manages mini-group opportunities of up to nine (9) rooms on peak, including qualification, contracting, coordination, and transition to operations.
  • Identifies opportunities to convert transient corporate demand into extended stay and small group business.
  • Conducts consistent sales calls, client meetings, site inspections, and industry networking to generate new business and strengthen relationships.
  • Utilizes client entertainment appropriately, including business meals, hotel tours, and relationship-building engagements, as part of strategic account development.
  • Maintains accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and account activity within Delphi and other sales systems.
  • Reviews account production on a monthly and quarterly basis to ensure achievement of negotiated goals and identify growth opportunities.
  • Collaborates closely with Revenue Management, Reservations, Front Office, and Operations teams to optimize account performance and guest satisfaction.
  • Represents Equinox Hotel New York at industry events and networking functions as directed.
  • Participates in sales meetings, business reviews, pipeline sessions, forecasting meetings, and strategic planning discussions.
  • Maintains accurate account documentation, reporting, and CRM integrity across all assigned accounts.
  • Ensures timely follow-up on all sales leads and business opportunities.
  • Accurately completes expense reports and administrative responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
