Requirements

  • Associate's degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Working knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and case lifecycles.
  • Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage critical deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority matters in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and proactively manage case workflow.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to professionally manage sensitive and high-pressure interactions.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years of paralegal or litigation support experience preferred.
  • Experience with collections litigation, creditor rights, garnishments, or bankruptcy matters strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Florida Electronic Filing Portal, CM/ECF, and PACER preferred.

Responsibilities

  • File intake, initial review, skip tracing, and case setup.
  • Prepare documents for attorney review, including demands, pleadings, correspondence, affidavits, judgments, motions, settlements, and other litigation-related documents.
  • Handle all aspects of garnishment proceedings, including asset identification, preparation of court documents, processing Answers and Claims of Exemption, negotiations, recording satisfactions, and garnishment reporting.
  • Maintain and update the case management system.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for judicial assistants, Clerk’s Offices, and county mediation services.
  • Process all incoming and outgoing mail on a daily basis.
  • Review bankruptcy notices and notify appropriate parties within the organization.
  • Prepare and electronically file state and federal court documents through applicable filing systems.
  • Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, hearings, and scheduling requirements.
  • Ensure coverage for all scheduled hearings.
  • Maintain ownership of case progression by monitoring deadlines and proactively advancing matters through standard litigation milestones.
