About The Position

Covia is seeking a Corporate Lab Technician to support the Technology & Applications Team in Concord, North Carolina. The technician supports technology and application development by performing laboratory tasks such as sample preparation, testing, data analysis, and equipment maintenance. The role requires a science and laboratory techniques background, attention to detail, and accuracy. The technician is expected to work safely, maintain laboratory operations and documentation, support continuous improvement, and provide training and technical assistance as needed.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Science, Technology, or Engineering.
• One year of experience working in a laboratory setting or equivalent educational experience.
• Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct work safely and effectively in accordance with established procedures.
• Analyze data and generate reports.
• Maintain the laboratory in clean working order.
• Maintain equipment, samples, and supplies.
• Understand the physical properties and potential hazards of required chemicals.
• Maintain research notebooks documenting work performed and results.
• Participate in continuous improvement of procedures, processes, and equipment.
• Train fellow employees in new and existing procedures as needed.
• Provide technical assistance as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
