Corporate Intern - Real Estate & Construction
About The Position
This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in Real Estate operations and culture, assisting in the completion of projects throughout the summer. The internship is paid and based on a 40-hour work week, with overtime available upon prior approval. Interns will undergo a 1-2 week training and orientation period, followed by project assignments. They will shadow leaders and mentors to learn the business, provide monthly updates to the Real Estate leadership team and senior leaders as needed, and present their findings to department leadership and the executive leadership team upon completion.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree Program
- 3.0 GPA or above
- Familiarity with general commercial construction means and methods
- Familiarity with general asset accounting principles and practices
- A basic knowledge of cash flow, forecasting, and accrual practices is critical
- Advanced proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications specifically, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Responsibilities
- Perform related duties in support of project efforts in areas of project prioritization
- Assist and support Old Dominion Real Estate team in prioritization and execution of projects
- Assist with the preparation of documentation, training, and support of various systems
- Collaborate with team members to support all phases of the project lifecycle
- Document technical specifications that support the development, testing, and deployment of new technologies and applications
- Participate in defining, implementing, managing processes, and translating business requirements into technical design documentation
