About The Position

Mountain States Properties is currently accepting applications for its summer internship program with their Construction & Development team. This team is responsible for identifying, acquiring, designing, entitling, and developing commercial and residential projects throughout the Intermountain West. As an intern, you will work with the Construction & Development team to gain experience and exposure to the complete process. Job Title: Construction & Development Intern Job Type: Internship This position runs mid-May—August 15, 2026, 30-40 hours a week in the Logan, UT office; no remote work. Base Wage: $20.00/hour. This position is expected for 30-40 hours/week. This position is not eligible for benefits.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree; preferably in Real Estate, Construction Management, Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, Finance, Business, or another applicable discipline.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially in Excel
  • Ability to problem-solve and exercise independent judgment while displaying a high degree of initiative
  • Positive work attitude and ability to work in a team environment
  • Desire to learn and pursue a career in real estate development
  • Junior or senior year preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of commercial real estate development projects from planning through construction
  • Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the construction management team
  • Maintain and organize project documentation, including drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders, ensuring teams are working from current information
  • Coordinate with general contractors, architects, and engineers to support ongoing project activities
  • Attend project meetings (e.g., OAC meetings) and prepare clear, organized meeting minutes
  • Assist in the preparation and review of pay applications and supporting documentation for lender submissions
  • Track and manage contractor and subcontractor compliance documents, including certificates of insurance (COIs), lien waivers, and related materials
  • Maintain digital filing systems and ensure accurate, consistent document control for reporting and project closeout
  • Support project tracking efforts, including schedules, logs, and internal reporting tools
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as data entry, document formatting, and file management
  • Assist in underwriting potential acquisitions, including multi-family property, commercial, projects, redevelopment sites, and existing assets
  • Assist with all aspects of the acquisition due diligence process, including reviewing third party reports such as appraisals, market trends, environmental reports etc.
  • Prepare investment summaries for internal use and for use with partners and lending institutions
