About The Position

The Corporate Human Resources Specialist is responsible for leading the HR departments within three health care facilities by developing and implementing HR policies and programs, ensuring compliance with employment laws, managing the HR budget and working to improve employee relations. The Human Resources Specialist reports to the President of Concord Health Systems.

Requirements

  • College degree in a business associated field with a minimum of 2 years of experience working in a skilled nursing facility or health care setting
  • Proficient knowledge of computer software
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive information and documentation while maintaining privacy/confidentiality
  • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Proficient in spelling, grammar and written communication skills
  • Excellent telephone and oral communication skills
  • Team player with the ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Strong HR management and leadership skills
  • Ability to coach employees/managers throughout the organization to ensure processes are understood and followed consistently

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for monitoring facility personnel records for completeness and accuracy
  • Working with Administrators and other facility personnel to monitor and supply as needed employee orientation and other training
  • Reviews and manually corrects as needed payroll entries in the timekeeping software for processing
  • Provides oversight of FMLA compliance
  • Provides oversight of worker comp claims
  • Maintains oversight of OSHA files and the submission and posting of OSHA required documents
  • Participates and/or leads various recruiting initiatives such as job fairs, school and vocational partnerships and other community programs
  • Serves as the resource for benefits and handbook related questions
  • Assists facility Administrators and schedulers in maintaining staffing needs to minimize agency usage
  • Able to assist and complete ACA (Affordable Care Act) and PBJ (Payroll Based Journal) reporting
  • Responsible for communicating and leading the employee benefit programs
  • Track/trend HR metrics and report findings to the Board of Directors and facility Administrators
  • lead the organization's performance management program
  • Tracking employee in-service and training to satisfy licensure requirements
  • Serve as the facility Interim HR manager as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
