About The Position

The Salvation Army is seeking a Corporate Engagement Manager to support the creation and cultivation of relationships with corporations within the Eastern Pennsylvania & Delaware Division. This role acts as a facilitator between the development department and the corporate community, managing a portfolio of corporations to achieve annual goals and support The Salvation Army's mission. The position involves building relationships with corporate executives, managing donor portfolios, identifying and facilitating volunteer opportunities, coordinating gifts-in-kind, developing strategies for corporate foundation funding, and supporting grant proposal submissions. The manager will also work with the media team to highlight partnerships, enhance Christmas Kettles, and coordinate with legal and finance departments for corporate donations. A key responsibility is developing a process to match the needs of The Salvation Army with corporate foundation funding opportunities and overseeing a Grants Calendar.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university or related work experience and specialized training.
  • 2-4 years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising, community building, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Must be extremely organized and able to manage a busy schedule of activities in a timely manner.
  • Must be proficient on computers and especially in managing data, with strong technical skills.
  • Must have very strong research skills.
  • Must have strong communication and writing skills.
  • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter.
  • Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law requires completion of PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and PA DHS Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
  • Completion of a Pennsylvania approved Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training is necessary prior to employment.
  • Must understand and support for the Mission of The Salvation Army.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of CRM, Salesforce, Classy, Microsoft Word and Excel software is preferable (otherwise must be trained).

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Director of Corporate Engagement to build and strengthen relationships with top executives, CEOs, and employee groups.
  • Present The Salvation Army’s mission and programs through office visits, correspondence, conversations, and facility tours.
  • Maintain a portfolio of donors and track progress to annual goals for each account.
  • Maintain an up-to-date list of all existing corporate contacts and partnerships and track all actions in the donor database (Salesforce).
  • Research and identify volunteer programs for major corporations and facilitate these opportunities.
  • Research and identify gifts-in-kind for programs and clients from corporations, coordinating with staff to ensure appropriateness.
  • Identify corporate foundations and develop strategies for approaching them for funding.
  • Support Corps in editing and submitting funding proposals and reporting for local corporate foundations.
  • Work with the Divisional media team to highlight company philanthropic partnerships and create necessary collateral.
  • Enhance Christmas Kettles through organization of contact lists and solicitation of corporate volunteers.
  • Coordinate and execute corporate donations and activities with departments such as Legal and Finance.
  • Develop and manage a process to identify The Army's needs and match them to corporate foundation funding opportunities.
  • Identify corporate foundations whose objectives are compatible with The Salvation Army's mission.
  • Oversee a Grants Calendar and the submission of proposals to compatible corporate foundations.
  • Help enhance the knowledge of Corps Officers and Program Directors in proposal writing, project start-up, and report preparation.
  • Oversee the review of all corporate grants submitted to external funders before requests are submitted to the Contracts Database.
