About The Position

The Oncology Nursing Foundation, established in 1981, has provided over $32 million in funding to support oncology nursing education, research, and leadership development, significantly improving patient care and advancing the profession. The Director of Corporate Engagement will manage a team responsible for ONS fundraising and corporate engagement activities, aligning with ONS strategic priorities and national conferences. This is a full-time, remote position with occasional travel to the ONS Headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of an organization, including executive and C-level.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and storytelling to craft a compelling narrative.
  • Demonstrated self-starter, strategic thinker, and ability to work collaboratively in a team atmosphere.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage competing tasks independently and efficiently.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in nursing, healthcare, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of sales or account management experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Pharmaceutical, medical device, or oncology healthcare experience is preferred.
  • Nursing experience or education is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the principal relationship manager for developing and expanding support from pharmaceutical, oncology institutions, biotech, medical device industries, and other new markets for the ONS.
  • Oversee and mentor staff in driving enterprise-wide funding initiatives, partnering with cross-functional teams to understand organizational needs, address gaps, and capitalize on strategic opportunities.
  • Provide innovative approaches and direction for ONS initiatives/projects using clinical, healthcare, sales, and project management expertise.
  • Act as the main point of contact for industry leads and engaged corporate sponsors, representing the Corporate Engagement team and ensuring funder needs are met.
  • Lead the development and delivery of strategic funding initiatives to key strategic partners, including industry stakeholders, patient advocacy groups, and governmental agencies.
  • Facilitate meetings of corporate groups (e.g., Corporate Council) to communicate ONS priorities and identify points of mutual interest.
  • Establish and maintain regular account contact through virtual meetings, phone, email, and in-person visits during conferences.
  • Evaluate potential new projects and industry partnerships for alignment with the ONS mission and collaborate cross-functionally to present funding opportunities.
  • Provide suggestions and input for project development based on industry/customer insights and lead the customer project planning cycle.
  • Identify and develop Business Development opportunities through networking with industry and healthcare organizations, communicating opportunities while following internal processes.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend new sources of sponsorship and grant-funded corporate sponsorship and project-specific revenue.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional ONS teams to provide content for proposal development.
  • Attend professional society and industry meetings.
  • Monitor annual budgets and sponsored/grant-funded projects to ensure revenue goals are met.
  • Collaborate with the Oncology Nursing Foundation on fundraising targets and strategies.
  • Create and maintain an effective record-keeping system for external customers.
  • Provide reports on the effectiveness and estimated revenue value of professional relationships.
  • Ensure external funder compliance and recognition standards are met.
