About The Position

The Corporate MDS Director is responsible for the supervision of Regional MDS Nurses and implementing measures to improve quality measures as well as maximize compensation. The Corporate MDS Director will monitor and audit MDS and Quality Measures. This role ensures timely submission of assessments and works with Regional MDS Nurses to develop schedules and best practices for completing MDS assessments timely and accurately. The position requires familiarity with current payment structures (PDPM, CMI, etc.) and the RAI manual, as well as federal and state agency regulations. The Director will also participate in community events and marketing plans, communicate professionally, maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance, and adhere to company policies and the Code of Conduct.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited nursing program
  • 5+ Years MDS experience
  • Current valid LPN/LVN or RN license
  • Freedom from illegal use of drugs.
  • Freedom from use and effects of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
  • Not found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting, or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Regional MDS Nurses.
  • Implement measures to improve quality measures and maximize compensation.
  • Monitor and audit MDS and Quality Measures.
  • Ensure timely submission of assessments.
  • Develop schedules and best practices for completing MDS assessments timely and accurately with Regional MDS Nurses.
  • May be involved in disciplinary action of MDS staff.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state agency regulations and requirements.
  • Put measures in place to meet regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Participate in community events and marketing plans and programs as needed.
  • Act in ways that promote professional and positive representation of the facility to the community.
  • Communicate in a professional and courteous manner using effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills with residents, their families, co-workers, and vendors.
  • Maintain confidentiality of department, resident, employee information, communication, and documentation, and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Clock in and out for all working/training hours or report time as required by Legacy policy.
  • Maintain compliance with Legacy's Compliance program and plan.
  • Adhere to Legacy's Code of Conduct and Dress Code.
