About The Position

Destination Greater Victoria is seeking a Corporate Communications Specialist for an 18-month contract. This role will be instrumental in developing and executing internal and external communications strategies that align with organizational goals and programs. The specialist will collaborate across departments to produce engaging content for various channels, including newsletters, press releases, and emails. Responsibilities also include supporting community relations, strengthening stakeholder connections, and evaluating communication effectiveness. This hybrid position requires at least three days per week in the office and is located in the Greater Victoria region. It is a full-time role, 35 hours per week, with a salary range of $55,000-$60,000.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Management, Community Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in public relations/corporate communications, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Proficiency in writing, editing, and proofreading with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Experience writing, formatting and creating content for e-newsletters or similar publications.
  • Positive, solutions-focused attitude with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Adaptable and flexible, open to new ideas and challenges.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

  • Familiarity with the tourism industry is an asset.
  • Local indigenous knowledge is an asset.
